The MA State ODP program, in partnership with Força! Soccer Tours for the 3rd year in a row, completed their Feb 2008 tour that brought 3 girls age groups to Barcelona, Spain. |

Fútbol The MA ODP teams' daily soccer regimen included training several times at both the INEF complex in Montjuic (facilities from the Barcelona olympics), and the Ciudad Deportiva training complex of La Liga club RCD Espanyol. They also enjoyed 2 training sessions run by Espanyol trainers (photo right) The teams played competitive friendly matches against the sub13 and sub16 teams of Levante Las Planas, CE Europa, Badalona CF, and Terrassa. The ODP group rounded out their soccer experience with a visit to Camp Nou, the stadium of spanish league perennial powerhouse, FC Barcelona, as well as attendance of men's La Liga 1 match Espanyol-Sevilla at the Estadi Olimpic in Monjuic. |

The ODP group rounded out their soccer experience with a visit to Camp Nou, the stadium of spanish league perennial powerhouse, FC Barcelona, as well as attendance of men's La Liga 1 match Espanyol-Sevilla at the Estadi Olimpic in Monjuic. Cultura The MA ODP travel party combined their daily soccer with various sightseeing and cultural activities in Barcelona as well. The group stayed near Barcelona's old city center, within walking distance of La Rambla, the old port , the gothic quarter, and many other famous cultural sites. The group also took a formal guided tour which among other things included several modernist sites like La Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, and Parc Guell (photo left). After a busy week, a visit to the quiet medieval beach town of Sitges, for a walk thru the historic streets, some shopping, and a lunch by the beach was a nice way to spend the final day. |
