Força! Soccer Tours

APRIL 11, 2009 - MILWAUKEE, WI

The Whitefish Bay Soccer Club (WfB SC), in partnership with Força! Soccer Tours, completed their April 2010 tour that brought a u13u14 girls team with family members in tow to central Italy. WfB SC is located the Milwaukee, WI suburb of Whitefish Bay.

Tuscany

The WfB SC group began their tour with 5 days in the region of Tuscany. Based in Montecatini Terme, located between Florence and Pisa, the group enjoyed their free-time in the spa town, but spent the greater part of their days out and about with various soccer and sightseeing activities.

The team trained twice at a partner club in medieval Tuscan town of Scarperia, with training session run by the local licensed trainers. The WFB SC girls also played competitive matches with the Scarperia club and with a quality girls club in Florence.

The group also had the opportunity for an excursion north to Parma to attend a match of the Italian top professional league. They enjoyed the Serie A match up of Parma-Fiorentina.

The group's cultural experience in Tuscany went beyond experiencing the soccer culture, with guided tours and free-time in Florence (including Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria), and in Pisa (including the Field of Miracles and the Leaning Tower).

Rome

The WfB SC group completed their tour with 5 days in the Italian capital. The group stayed near the city center, a short distance from many of the important cultural and historical sites, such as the Trevi fountain, and the Spanish steps. The group took part in guided tours of ancient Rome (including Roman Coliseum, Roman Forum), and of the Vatican City (including St. Peter's Basilica, Sistine Chapel).

The final soccer experience included a well-played competitive match with the girls club affiliated with AS Roma. Afterwards, the WfB SC girls watched the AS Roma women's first team training and got the chance to meet the players.
